| Al
was big and tough. The type of rugged, independent guy who wouldn't
take anyone's advice. When the brake warning light on his dash
came on, he just ignored it. He was told he was risking his
life by ignoring the warning light, but Al just shrugged.
A
year later, Al's car refused to stop. He slammed into the
car in front of him and that was the end of his brake problem.
It was also the end of Al.
Are
you one of the many who keep driving after the brake warning light
comes on? When was the last time you thought about your brakes?
Do you know if they are working properly? There are several
things that point to possible brake failure:
-
The pedal sinks to the floor or feels soft
-
There is a chirping noise when you just start to apply the brakes
-
The brake warning light is on
-
One or more of the wheels lock up or pull to the left or right
when applying the brakes

TIP:
Are you a "two-footed" driver? Don't rest your left foot on
the brake pedal. It can cause premature brake wear. If
your car is computer controlled, this can cause stalling and derivability
problems. |
